Keeper of The Lost Cities Stellarlune

Shannon Messenger

This month I read a book called Stellarlune, it’s about a girl named Sophie who just figured out her friend ran away. At first she’s super worried, but then people convince her it’s for the best because her friend has powers he can’t control and it’s not safe. They soon open some forgotten secrets to find out about Stellarlune and Elysian. But Vespera, the evil leader of the neverseen who has gone numb and can’t feel emotions, what’s the power source and Elysian and wants to team up. Soon Sophie finds keefe, and they start to date. They then find a way to get to Elysian, and they find nothing. Then they go to Elysian with Vespera because she knows what’s to do.

I really liked this book because I’ve really wanted keefe and Sophie to date throughout the entire series, and they finally do, so that’s the main reason I liked it, but not my full reasoning. I also like that it was very exciting and a page turner. Every chapter made we want to read more, and it makes me sad the next book isn’t coming out till mid year 2024.

Usually, I would say that Keefe was my favorite character, but he was gone fore over half the book, so I chose a new character, Marella Redek. I love Marella because she’s super sassy. She has some funny snarky comebacks that make me laugh, and I love the way she acts. She’s kind and loyal, and will do lots of things for her friends. But when you do reach her boundaries, she will tell you and make it funny in the process.

My favorite quote from this book is in chapter forty-six, page 688. It says, “‘I CALL TEAM FOSTER-KEEFE!’ Keefe announced, wrapping his arm around Sophie’s shoulders. But his huge grin faded when he glanced at Fitz. ‘I mean…if that’s not going to cause any problems. Did you, uh…need to do your cognate thing here? Because if you do-‘“ I like this quote because even though Sophie and Keefe are dating, he still will let her hang out with other guys alone, and he trusts her. And that he is kind enough to immediately drop it for a friends who liked Sophie before.

The Battle of Powers

Bob sways through the murky water. Below it to stay hidden, but close enough to the top to make it easier to pounce. As he treads closer and closer to the enemy, his rage gets bigger and bigger. This is for my family. He thought. For my friends. For my shells. For my money! FOR AQUATOPIA! He gets closer, and closer, until his only sight is his enemies back. He rises out of the water, and raises the water around them. Soon there’s a huge halo of water around his fingers, his head. He’s takes the water and makes into a blob above the enemies head. He starts to lower and down and…

“Hello Bob.” The enemy says. Bob pauses, with the water hanging right above the enemies head. “How nice of you to drop in like this.” The enemy turns around to face Bob. Bobs face is fills with uter terror, vengeance, anger. “So? When are you going to do it.”

“What do you mean?” Bob replies. He decided to try and stall while he waits for backup.

“You want to kill me, so get over with it. Surprise me.” The enemy replies.

“How can I surprise you when you’re always five steps ahead of me?”

“I have a question Bob.” The enemy ignores Bobs question. “Do you know who I am?”

“How would I? You always have a mask covering you.” Bob spits back.

“I suppose that’s true.” The enemy slowly draws back his hood, revealing matted down fur, with blue piercing eyes staring deeper into my soul. Her smile is familiar.

“Mother?”

“Yes, I suppose it’s time you figured out it was me. Took you a little long didn’t it?”

“You killed father!”

“He was in the way.”

“AND MY SISTER!”

“She simply knew too much.”

Bob heard enough. Before his mom had enough time to consult him to come back, he was already underwater,

“Bob! Where are you honey? Don’t you want to see father?” Bob heard her calling. “Bob you’re being so dramat-“ before she could finish her sentence, Bob pounces out of the water and grabs his mother neck. He pulls her underwater and traps her under some rocks and emerges. Every otter crawls out from their hiding spot and applauds. Bob just saved Aquatopia.

Thankful Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is an amazing holiday for spending time with family, eating food, and finding what you’re thankful for. Here are three things that I’m thankful for. One thing I’m thankful for is my family, I love my family so much. Sure my younger sister and older sister can be kinda mean, but I still love them. I have three sisters, which in my opinion is three too many, but I still am so thankful for them. My parents are so amazing! My dad works hours everyday so we can have nice things, and travel all the time. My mom makes my lunches, packs my backpack, and helps me whenever I’m sad. I am so thankful for my family, I don’t know what I would do without them. Another thing I’m thankful for is books. This sounds kind of weird, because there’s so many things I could be thankful for, so why books? Books are kind of my escape from reality, sometimes when it’s just not my best day, I open my Keeper of The Lost Cities and get transported to the Elvin world. Where there’s alicorns and magical powers and all that fun stuff. Books may be the reason I need glasses, but I still love when I get into a good book series. I could read for hours a day. The last thing I’m thankful for is my friends. During elementary school, I had no friends and it was very sad and boring. Now in middle school I have this huge group of friends. There’s over ten of us at lunch everyday, and its really fun. I go over to peoples houses and have such a fun and amazing time. There’s obviously so many more things I’m thankful for, but these are the only ones I’m going to share today. Thank you for reading my blog! Bye!

RAD READING-OCTOBER

Keeper of The Lost Cities:Exile

Shannon Messenger

This month I read a book called Keeper of The Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger. It’s about a girl named Sophie. She is recovering from being kidnapped in the first book, and has to have this huge body guard follow her. She ends up finding an alicorn, a unicorn with wings, and it ends up being a female, which is making because the only other one is a male. So Sophie has to go through the troubles of taking care of her alicorn, Silveny, because the alicorn won’t let anyone except Sophie by her. It is very difficult. With Sophie and he amazing telepathy powers and Alden, Sophie’s best friends dad, they go and probe a mind to find out about this mystery group called the black swan. While doing that it breaks Alden’s mind, making him go crazy. Sophie soon figures out that she can’t fix him, because her mind is broken, after a while of her getting in trouble because of her cracked mind, she gets a note from the black swan saying they can fix her.

What I really like about this book is the tiny love plot. It’s when a boy named Keefe keeps saying stuff that makes everyone think that he and Sophie are dating. He says things like, “It’s a date!” When all he’s doing is coming over to her house. It makes the book a lot more interesting, with him just making small remarks, making Sophie fall in love with him.

My favorite character from the book is Keefe. I love Keefe because he’s really funny, super extra, and super sarcastic. One way to prove that he’s sarcastic is on page 466. He says, “…try not to be too enthusiastic…” This shows that he’s sarcastic because he’s an empath, and can sense people’s feelings. Then Keefe has to work with Sophie to find out more about the black swan. And Sophie is not happy. So this shows that he’s enthusiastic because even though is mad, he jokes and says she’s “too enthusiastic.”

My favorite quote from the book is on page 380, when Keefe says, “It’s a date, Foster!” I think that this is funny because even though at this moment Sophie doesn’t like Keefe, he made many heads turn when he said that, making everyone think that they’re a couple, which I really hope that they will be some time later in the series,

My Wish Fantasy

I have just been granted three wishes! This is very difficult for me because there are many things I would like to wish for. But my first reason was really easy to think of! Infinite money. This one is very simple, having infinite money, I would choose this wish because I can do so much with all that money! I can travel all around the world, doing whatever I want, I could also buy a new phone. I really want a new phone. I can also pay for whatever I want, do I want another dog? Well yes, I can buy that easily and buy it all the toys it wants. Do I want a whole new wardrobe? I can simply pay someone to drive me to the spectrum and go to any stores I want. Can I buy my entire Amazon cart? Yes, just a few taps of my screen and I have almost anything I want. Do I want to bribe my parents out of me doing chores? Yes, but it may be very difficult. I could also buy my entire family anything they want. We could have a big house, with each of my siblings having their own room, and knowing that we would need five rooms in order for that to work. One for each of my three siblings plus me, then my mom and dad, that would be pretty difficult, but knowing I have infinite money, I could just design my own house, or my mom could design it, I’m really bad at designing! We could have a huge pool that’s also right next to a lake or river or beach, because my family is more of a water family, not a snow family. I could go on and on about what I would spend my money on, but I’m going to move on to my next wish. This sounds kinda interesting, but I would wish for no more world hunger. So many people die because they have no food. So I would just wish that everyone had infinite food to live with, so no one would have to go to the store in order to get food, and they could just press a button or something and get whatever food they want, and of course people could still cook or buy stuff, only if they wanted to. My last wish I would sue was for every superpower. I read lots of fantasy books, so I have many ideas, but I can’t name every single one. Of course there are a few powers I wouldn’t want, like whatever i touch turn into gold, or anything like that. I wouldn’t want a power that affects my way of living. A power like that would suck because no more touching anything you want to eat. I also love hugging, so it would be impossible to hug people without turning them to gold. My power would be like to fly, control people with my mind, read peoples minds, teleport, and so many others. Most of my powers I want are inspired from a book called Keeper of The Lost Cities, which a very good book series by the way. They have so many powers in that series, like fire, teleportation, to feel other people feelings, and so much more. Those are the three wishes I would want, and I could probably take over the world with all those wishes, but I wouldn’t, I could, but I wouldn’t. Thank you for reading my blog! Bye!

My Disney Day

If I had a perfect day, it would honestly super crazy. I would want to wake up, and my best friend would be having a sleep over with me. We would wake up, and get all ready. We would walk outside to a warm, sunny day, with a slight breeze. We would then fly to Disney world, and it would only take seconds. We would visit every single park, and ride every single ride. We would go to Epcot first. I would go to Epcot first because you get to experience pretty much every continent. Feeling French? Just walk to the French area and maybe eat a crème brûlée. Want the cute kawaii aesthetic, walk around over to the Japanese area. Want dumplings? Just go over to the Chinese area! Each area also has rides, and of course me and my friend won’t have to wait in the lines. I remember the last time we went to Epcot, we went on the ratatouille ride! It was so much fun because it was a sensory ride. You would be running away from a chef and he would get the mop to sweep you away, and water will splash on you. You run under the oven to hide, and it would put a bunch of heat on you. I would be lots of fun. There’s not so many rides in Epcot, so I would then go to the Animal Kingdom. In the animal kingdom is once of my favorite rides. Avatar. It has an insanely long line the we won’t have to wait in, and it’s another sensory ride. In the beginning they take a picture of you, and then make you into an Avatar. They then pair you up with a banshee, which will take you on a ride. They have 3D glasses so it looks like your actually flying, and during one point, you fly right next to a whale that sprays water all over you! I would go on lots of the rides there, then end up going to Hollywood studios. There I would go on the tower of terror, because sometimes I just want to scream as loud as I can and no one will judge, it also is a lot of fun. Sure, it sound scary dropping two-hundred feet with on a small little seatbelt keeping you from flying, but it’s still amazing! I would go on some more rides then go to magic kingdom. They have some fun rides there but all I really care about is the castle. It has no attractions, no food places, but is is so beautiful. Then during the night, when the fireworks go off. Lighting up the sky. I couldn’t love it more. The thing is is that I would do that at the end of my day. I would go back home to California before I go to the magic kingdom. Me and my friend would then go to Paris. There are many things to do in Paris, but we would got to Disney Paris. As you can tell my perfect day would be completely Disney! I’ve always loved Disney because I’ve just grown up around it. As busy as it would be, it would still be so fun. So that’s my Disney day, thanks for reading by blog, bye!
